More selected projects

Twelve are proud to share a project that opened in Munich, Germany last year with further pilots rolling out this year. Working closely with the supermarket giant REWE, we designed the environment and permanent communications for a new proposition that combines the best of convenience and food on the move into a forecourt format. The proposition was launched in cooperation with EuroGarages.

The format has been designed to offer customers the widest choice throughout the week, in the best possible environment. It responds to a number of customer missions that were coded into the design at the outset - including ‘food for now’, ‘food for later’ & ‘emergency top up’.

The store itself is designed to be clean, contemporary and natural, whilst being affordable and easy to roll-out. The perimeter is ordered and punctuated with illuminated signage to help customers navigate quickly. Customers can go directly to pay for fuel or choose from a selection of hot and cold snacks, fresh food and groceries, as well as the selection of soft and alcoholic drinks. Customers can also choose to takeaway or sit in to eat.

The communications and colour scheme are simple and direct to amplify the new identity, created by REWE’s in-house team, and to reflect the nature of the transport location. Due to the very high product density and operational requirements, we worked at a micro level with the REWE team to ensure every detail and every aspect came together perfectly. We developed a great working relationship and end result, despite working in different countries and the challenges that came with the pandemic – plus several babies being born during the process!
